Hi, I’m Andy Meiner, founder of SI-Squared. I've been on the vendor side of digital health my entire career, since graduating in Computer Science from Liverpool University in 1990. I started as a software engineer with one of the two major US health IT vendors at the time, and since then I’ve worked across the full spectrum of roles, from developer to managing director, at companies large and small.
While I still consider myself technical, what drives me now is helping vendors unlock the full potential of interoperability, commercially and technically, to scale faster, integrate better, and build stronger partnerships with health and care systems. I bridge the gap between business and technology, because I’ve lived both sides.
I’ve been passionate (to the point of obsession) about interoperability since building some of the NHS’s first HL7 interfaces over 25 years ago. What began as a fun technical challenge has become a mission. I've seen firsthand how fragmented systems, and the inability to share data, damage patient safety, drive up costs, and strangle innovation.
Today, vendors face a frustrating landscape: health systems are forced to choose between the "safe" functionality of entrenched legacy players, built on proprietary models and outdated tech, or the promise of cloud-native platforms that still lack maturity or buyer confidence. You’re expected to plug into archaic environments, comply with multiple standards, navigate endless procurement hurdles, all while proving ROI fast and scaling efficiently.
The future is clear: cloud-based, open data platforms that enable modular, API-driven ecosystems where innovation thrives. But right now, vendors are stuck in the in-between, trying to meet today's integration demands while preparing for tomorrow’s platform economy.
That’s where SI-Squared comes in. We exist to help modern, agile vendors succeed, whether you're trying to integrate with the legacy stack or ensure your solution is future-ready. We use standards like FHIR and openEHR the right way, connect you to the best technical and regulatory minds in the field, and co-create with you so that you build capability as you go.
We’ve been in your shoes. We understand the urgency. And we’ll help you get where you need to go — faster, leaner, and with a strategy that won’t fall apart in two years.
If you’re a vendor who knows your solution can make a real difference, but you just need help breaking through the system — talk to us.
